 Voluntary Enterprise Fund Raising Flyer2

The Indian economy has progressed rapidly since the early 90’s after economic liberalization. India is 4th largest economy of World ( taking Purchasing Power Parity (PPP) into consideration) and its economy is booming with a stable political system. At the same time we can not deny some facts about India:

  • Population: 1.1 billion, with up to 300 million living below poverty line. 400 Million people are living on $1 a day.
  • Twelve Indian states have "alarming" levels of hunger while the situation is "extremely alarming" in the state of Madhya Pradesh. Madhya Pradesh's nutrition problems, are comparable to the African countries of Ethiopia and Chad.
  • 47% of all children under five suffer from sub-nutrition - the figure for sub-Saharan Africa is 30%.
  • 40% of the world's child labour is in India.
  • HIV prevalence is 0.36% with an estimated total of 2.4 million cases
  • 27% of all children under five do not have enough to eat, and millions of growing children are eating only one meal a day.
  • 700 million Indians lack adequate sanitary facilities.

SAVE’s aim is to Attack Poverty and Promote Social Opportunity for those who are in real need. This can only be achieved if every body will extend a helping hand and take a responsibility towards making the world a better place. Every little help will definitely make a difference for those people who need the most.

Donating £5 to £10 per month to SAVE by standing order will help us to continue and enlarge our present projects and signing the Gift Aid form increases your donation by 28%. You can also make a secure donation on line at our web site.
