SAVE-UK was registered in 1994 by the members of the Indian Diaspora settled in the UK as a non political, non religious, voluntary, charitable organization with the sole purpose of working amongst the poor, particularly those who are living below the poverty line, initially in India.


"SAVE works with local grass-root non-political and non-religious charitable organisations for the poor in the above countries to:

IMPROVE Education and health

PROMOTE Mother and child care, Nutrition and Sanitation

ENHANCE Women’s rights and empowerment

DEVELOP Skills for income generation

RAISE Awareness on environmental and social issues."




Nearly half of all deaths in children under 5 are attributable to undernutrition, translating into the loss of about 3 million young lives a year.


 

Malnutrition in Children

The interaction between undernutrition and infection can create a potentially lethal cycle of worsening illness and deteriorating nutritional status. Poor nutrition in the first 1,000 days of a child’s life can also lead to stunted growth, which is associated with impaired cognitive ability and reduced school.
